FRUIT CRU

Jesse & Cosmo started Fruit Cru in 2021 in a storage unit in Newtown, Wellington. Keen to create something fresh and unique they set to work with whatever organic fruit they could get their hands on. Apples, quinces, feijoas & kiwifruit. They co-fermented three small tanks and threw a party. It went off. Now they’ve built a small winery in the heart of Te Aro to create expressive bottles of sparkling fruit wine. Organic and foraged fruit, wild ferments and no added sulphur.

STACY BUCHANAN - BLOOD OF GODS

Part publisher, producer, and event promoter, Stacy Buchanan is a one-man hype machine, with a preacher’s passion to bridge wine to heavy metal music. His biannual cult heavy metal and wine ‘zine, Blood of Gods, launched in Spring 2020, and his annual Merrymaking, a festival of art, music, and wine in downtown Walla Walla, Washington, was quick to follow.

Throughout the pages of his publication, Buchanan pulls the curtain back from the “ivory tower snobs” and reveals a richer, louder, and more expansive and inclusive world shared by both metal and wine.
